The Nike Air VaporMax, originally released in 2017, is a shoe that truly embodies Nike’s innovative and turn of the century mantra. With perhaps the most noticeable feature being the air unit that also acts as the midsole, this allows the wearer’s feet to be closer than ever to Nike’s revolutionary Air technology.
Cactus Plant Flea Market is a brand that recently came onto the scene in 2015, led by designer Cynthia Liou. Despite remaining extremely scarce across social media and press, Liou has managed to get the CPFM name backed by countless figures with the likes of LeBron James, Travis Scott, Kanye, Drake, and Pharrel.
Here, we take a closer look at the women’s exclusive CPFM Nike Air VaporMax from May 2019. Looking at the shoes, it appears CPFM was allowed an extreme amount of creative freedom on this collaboration as the pair features various unique details. Some of these details include the swoosh made of a fluorescent tubing type material, double eyed smiley faces on the heels, and opposite colored ‘Just Do It’ detailing on both the left and right shoe.
Similar to the high level of creativity we see in this shoe, we also see high resale prices in the secondary market. According to the StockX data in the graph above, we can see average prices between $600-800 since their release in May 2019. Meanwhile, some of the larger sizes that correspond to men’s 9.5-11 are going for upwards of $1,000.
