Looking at an especially sentimental pack here, this Air Max 97 celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Air Max 97 while simultaneously celebrating the 15th anniversary of LA based sneaker boutique Undefeated (UNDFTD). Releasing alongside two other pairs, both the Black and White counterparts received an in store release followed up by an online drop, while the green colorway was supposed to be released exclusively at ComplexCon but was shut down due to the line getting out of hand.
The UNDFTD x Air Max 97 follows the same color scheme as their heralded Air Jordan IV collab, rocking a military green look with “Undefeated” branding around the shoe along with hits of blaze orange throughout.
The three original UNDFTD 97s received a follow up in 2020 with the release of three additional colorways. The second round of colorways included a UCLA themed shoe, a Black Volt pair, and a Militia Green rendition that looks eerily similar to the original green pair despite having two separate listings on StockX. Looking at the graph containing StockX resale data, we can see that the price of the exclusive green colorway has plummeted by nearly $1,000 over the last 6 months.
